Immigrant Rights are human rights

Short story

On February 4, 2026, a group of Brevard residents met at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd to create a banner in response to the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. We decided the message on the banner should say: “Immigrant Rights Are Human Rights. Speak Up Brevard!”

The banner was unveiled at Franklin Park, Brevard, NC, on February 21, 2026.

We invite the community to hang the banner at their location for one week. Displaying the banner at various locations helps send the message, "Immigrants are welcome in Brevard."
